Melissa Sanders has worked in the public relations and marketing sector for nearly 20 years in markets including New York City, Atlanta, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Most recently, she has served as a PR/Marketing consultant for entertainment, lifestyle, hospitality and B2B clientele. Previously, while at the Green Music Center (Sonoma County, CA), she oversaw all communications, promotions, marketing partnerships, advertising and sales for the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Hall, Weill Hall + Lawn and Schroeder Hall — which she helped open in 2014. At the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (Atlanta, GA), Melissa oversaw traditional and social media relations, crisis communications and issues management, content strategy, integrated marketing-communications, and thought leadership for all ASO-related activities, events, brands and recordings, and performances at Atlanta Symphony Hall, Chastain Park Amphitheater and Verizon Wireless Amphitheater at Encore Park — which she helped open in 2008. While with the internationally acclaimed New York Philharmonic (New York, NY), Melissa developed and implemented strategic publicity campaigns for over 200 concerts annually as well as international tours and residencies, national radio broadcasts, “Live from Lincoln Center” national telecasts, education programs, special events, summer Concerts in the Parks and NYP recordings.
