OUR HISTORY

Founded in Atlanta in 1998, The Ledlie Group, a public relations firm, began with this simple mission: help clients communicate with their audiences in critical moments. That mission is now carried out nationwide.

Today, The Ledlie Group is owned and operated by Andrew J. McGowan. Mr. McGowan is a senior-level strategic public relations and marketing executive with more than 25 years’ experience across several high profile brands and industries. In 2015, he founded Watkins McGowan, LLC, a strategic communications practice.

Before founding Watkins McGowan, Mr. McGowan spent his career in leadership roles at companies including UPS, Qualcomm, Red Bull, and the National Hockey League.

Our communications successes have come in crisis management, public relations, legal matters, corporate reputation, marketing, human resources, executive coaching, media relations, corporate governance and compliance, and core operations.

True to our founding, we treat each client individually as a trusted members of an extended business family. We provide big businesses and small firms with marketing support, leadership intelligence and crisis communications. We also assist colleges and universities, foundations, and ecclesiastical bodies.

Though our backgrounds vary, there are several important assets that the members of our firm have in common: a broad educational background, an aptitude for writing and designing well, and a concern for the well-being of others.

The Ledlie Group continues to provide its crisis and communications counsel to law firms, higher education institutions, non-profits, healthcare organizations, and corporate entities in the United States and around the world. Through its partnership with Public Relations Global Network, the firm boasts a 50 plus firm network based in six continents.

A TRIBUTE TO OUR FOUNDER

In more than 40 years of worldwide communications, Joe Ledlie (1943 – 2015) built a reputation as an articulate and trusted voice of effective communications strategy. He was the only nationally honored newsman heading an Atlanta public relations firm.

Joe’s vision for The Ledlie Group was a firm that specialized in unusually sensitive projects, ranging from large-tract developments to headline court cases and protracted corporate contests.

Lawyers always liked Ledlie. He advised attorneys across the country on CEO ousters, union control, zoning fights, environmental problems, and campaign-financing indictments. He also worked in the creation of brand, IPO, and ownership issues.

He was an owner-member of the Public Relations Global Network, consisting of 50 independent firms operating on six continents. He also served as the organization’s treasurer.
